The NYU Veterans Writing Workshop is a free, non-partisan outreach program offered to the veteran community in and around New York City.
On Saturday mornings (10am-12pm)from September to May, experienced and dedicated NYU Creative Writing Fellows lead a weekly writing workshop for veterans. This workshop is free of charge and offers participants the opportunity to express themselves on paper and to explore the basics of the craft of writing in a welcoming community of fellow veteran writers. The Fall 2023 semester will meet in a hybrid mode, with one session per month held in person and the remaining sessions held remotely via Zoom.
We are indebted to Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith for founding the NYU Veterans Writing Workshop. We are also grateful to the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust for their invaluable support.
